Apropos of nothing, one of my favorite old-timey photos. Samurai in the 1860s. I love the way that everyone is looking at the guy in the middle but he’s looking at the camera, and that he’s resting his sword on the toe of his sandal. Also the way most of them are wearing traditional-looking robes but one guy in the back is wearing a contemporary western soldier’s uniform.
